What do you get if you cross 3 walking poles taped together with gaffa-tape and a 60 ft lamp post?

In October 2011, me, Luminesence, Jellybeansgeokid and Sir-lancelot went out to do some caches near Trosley county park and we came to a cache called, what do you call a 60 ft lamp? It’s a magnetic nano on a 60 ft lamp!

The 60ft Lamp

We saw it, we got a ladder and couldn’t reach so how did we get it? In steps now!

1.Get 3 walking poles

Taping the poles together

2.Tape them together with gaffa-tape

3.Get a ladder

4. Send Jellybeansgeokid up the ladder with the poles

5.Tell her to stick the nano to some gaffa-tape on the end of the poles

6.Sign the log

7.Put it back

In detail!

We got 3 walking poles and taped them together with gaffa-tape and put a bit on the end of the poles. Then we put the ladder against the lamp post and sent Jellybeansgeokid up the ladder with the poles to grab the cache. Finaly we

Success

signed the log book and put it back the same way. Then we had to take the gaffa-tape off the poles and put the stuff back in the cars!

Olden day style!

NO WAY!

You’ve heard the story now!

Funny?

Excellent work! And I thought we had issues with a GC on-top of a Public Footpath sign, about 8ft high.

  2. What a best idea than geocaching with kids ? great, great, great ! and nice cache.

    • Thanks, The kids love it a lot! Much better than sitting in front of a TV or computer!

      • You’re right, outdoor is so best !
Thanks to have subscribed to my own blog ! I put a link on my page to your site.

      • Thank you for adding a link, I will work out how to do the same.
I just read “1 year of Geocaching”, I did have to use google translate, unfortunately I didn’t remember enough la Francais, to read it without help 🙂
However, it will help me to improve!
